Netball is a brilliant winter sport, traditionally for girls but like all sports is open to all students. Netball is a ball sport played with 6 girls on the court at a time. The sport follows the ‘Future Ferns’ programme and heavily relies on parent help. Children are involved in a number of skills based sessions each competition night which then follows with a game. It is a great game for children learning to be a part of a team and develop fundamental ball and movement skills.

When: Competition takes place on Thursday afternoons for years 1 & 2, Tuesday afternoons for year 3 & 4 and Wednesday afternoons for years 5 & 6.

Practices take place at a time that is convenient for the team’s coach. This may be during a school lunch break or straight after school one day. This will be confirmed at the start of the season once coaches have decided.

Practices take place on the turf or top courts behind the hall at Hillcrest Normal School.
